Peugeot PY10 - Peugeot Michelin Team Edition Race Bike - 1984

Just amazing to finally get my hands on a Peugeot PY10 Team Edition Race bike as ridden by my cycling heroes Phil Anderson & Allan Peiper in the early 1980s.

This 1984 PY10 was ridden by the team in races like the Tour de France and De Ronde van Vlaanderen, constructed from Reynolds 531 Professional steel tubing, the top frame material of the day.

At the time French bike components came from different companies, unlike parts from the Italian and Japanese firms Campagnolo and Shimano that produced complete groupsets.

So the derailleurs and gear shifters on the team bike are made by Simplex, the crankset and headset from Stronglight and the brakes from the German company Weinmann. The saddle is a very rare Italian made Selle Italia Turbo.

I have been looking for this bike for more than five years so can’t explain how happy I am to finally have it in our collection.

A huge thanks to my friend Philippe who drove all the way from Paris to deliver the bike in person.
