Alexandra & Daryl Impey are from South Africa and currently live in Girona Spain with their three young children. In this interview they talk openly about raising a young family far from home, and the unique challenges of sustaining a loving and empathetic relationship in the context of Daryl’s demanding and travel-packed career in professional cycling. Alexandra is a law graduate, and the couple married in 2011. Daryl is a professional road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Mitchelton–Scott. He is a two-time winner of the Tour Down Under, has won the South African National Road Race Championships twice, and is an eight-time winner of the South African National Time Trial Championships, including eight consecutive titles between 2013 and 2020. In 2013 Darly made history as the first South African to ever wear the prestigious yellow Jersey in the Tour de France. In 2019 he won stage 9 of the same race.
