HOTEL
Our award winning historic hotel was constructed in 1902 and occupies three spacious buildings clustered around a cobbled courtyard. Located in the heart of the Flemish Ardennes, the Flandrien has been described as the “ultimate place for cyclists” and featured in publications such as The Guardian and Cyclist Magazine. The large Clubhouse is your cosy home away from home where you can watch cycling events on the big screen and try a wide selection of Belgian beers. We also have a Technogym fitness centre, library, mezzanine lounge and beautiful garden.
THE ROOMS
Flandrien Hotel can accommodate up to 40 overnight guests and offers comfortable accommodation with various room types. Our rooms are spacious and stylish with power showers, WiFi, crisp linen and comfortable mattresses for a restful night’s sleep. Every room is unique, decorated with cycling art. You can arrive as early as 10am & checkout time is 3pm for guests who book via our website (otherwise 12pm) – so you can always ride on the final day of your stay.
FLANDRIEN CHALLENGE
The Flandrien Hotel is an excellent base for guests who are taking on the Flandrien Challenge, with easy access to the ride routes directly from the Hotel. The Flandrien Challenge, invites cyclists to conquer 59 iconic bergs and cobbled sections. Participants track their progress through a dedicated app, experiencing the region’s legendary cycling landscapes, aiming to earn the prestigious title of “Flandrien” and have their name engraved on a cobblestone at the Tour of Flanders Museum.
RIDE WITH MUSEEUW
Johan Museeuw, the Lion of Flanders, dominated the Spring Classics in the ’90s. He claimed three Tour of Flanders and three Paris-Roubaix victories, embodying resilience and strength, earning a hallowed place in cycling lore. Starting at the Fandrien Hotel, Johan takes you through the Flemish Ardennes for a tailor-made riding adventure guided by a former World Champion.
HIRE BIKES
We have one of the biggest bike rental fleets in Belgium with high quality race, gravel and e-bikes from brands such as Cannondale and Canyon, as well as unique ex pro team bicycles for hire. The bikes are fitted with large volume tyres perfect for the cobbles. We can provide pedals & helmets and also offer an SOS pickup service in case of mechanical mishaps. For non-guests we can arrange extended rentals and bike delivery to cities such as Brussels, Ghent, Oudenaarde and Antwerp.
ART GALLERY & EVENTS
Our bike collection has been described as perhaps “the best in the world” by Cyclist Magazine and includes bikes from riders such as Tom Boonen, Fabian Cancellara and Mathew Hayman. We have a photo exhibition by the respected Cycling Photographer Kristof Ramon, and a Pop-Art collection by John Mettepenningen which celebrates the lives of Flemish and international cycling legends.
